A lawsuit to the tax tribunal against the elders of Lublin province concerning the failure to pay the tax order of payment
Józef Starobiński, the treasurer of Czernihów, a companion and hiberna deputy of the armoured company of the Lithuanian Master of the Hunt [Fabian] Szaniawski, sues the elders of the Lublin province, and at the same time local rabbis: Józef from Opole, Jakub from Zwoleń, Lejba from Kurów, Zelik from Kazimierz and Chaim Abramowicz for the failure to pay the tax order of payment to the deputy of that regiment, Peter Gasparski, as a result of its wrong issue by the elders for the Jews from Biskupice, who should not be obliged to pay it.
A copy of the lawsuit from the 9th May, 1746 was delivered to the home of the Jew Chaimowicz called Bogaty in Lublin. The lawsuit was entered into records on the 12th May 1746 by the bailiff, Józef Pobramowski. JJózef rabbi of Opole is probably identical with Józef Senderowicz, Jakub rabbi of Zwoleń is probably identical with Jakub Abramowicz.
